Olive White (nee Banham)'s Norfolk Genealogy

Please note that my Mum, Olive White, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of 4th January 2016 aged 93. I will maintain this site for as long as possible but will have to transfer it to a new web address in due course. Many thanks for following Mum's work and for all the contacts that have assisted her research over the last 16 years - Richard White

I'm working on various family histories of my ancestors in NORFOLK, United Kingdom. Using various sources such as old family documents, censuses, family history known by relatives, the Internet and information from the Norfolk Family History Society, I have started to piece together my Family Tree.

My direct lineage is summarised by following this link SUMMARY.

The main family names I am researching are:-

  • BANHAM - Banham in Norwich, Caston and Pulham, Norfolk
  • DURRELL - Durrell in Norwich, Aylesham and Gunton, Norfolk
  • WELLS - Wells in Blickling, Cawston and Oulton, Norfolk
  • LEGGATE or LEGGETT - Leggate or Leggett in Watton, Norfolk

Click on the above names for links to my work so far. Each page also has a summary of all known descendants of the oldest ancestor in PORTABLE DOCUMENT FORMAT (pdf). You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC to download these files - if not, follow this link where the latest version of ACROBAT READER can be downloaded free.

Other family names associated with Norfolk ancestors are Blogg, Smith, Parish, Burrage, Randell and Howes. Browse around the above pages for Banham, Durrell, Wells and Leggate or Leggett to see their relationship to my family tree.

Keeping records, in some cases linked with photographs, has been simple using Parsons Technology Family Origins version 4.0 software on my computer. Parsons is now part of the Learning Company marketing Family Tree Maker.

Can you help further? If you have any information which could add to my research to my Norfolk genealogy of the Banham, Durrell, Wells, Leggate or Leggett families please use this link to email us.
